National mask donations support community organizations in fighting the spread of COVID-19
Burlington, ON – January 31, 2021 – Bunzl Safety recently participated in the Bunzl Week of Giving, which was launched to help fight the spread of COVID-19 in communities across Canada.
During the Week of Giving, Bunzl donated over 90,000 masks to 27 organizations across the country including hospitals, schools, emergency services, community support services and long-term care facilities, supporting healthcare delivery, protecting essential workers and assisting people in need.
“The global pandemic has created unprecedented needs in the communities in which we operate,” said John Howlett, President of Bunzl Canada. “Giving back to those communities is a fundamental tenet of our business philosophy, our culture and our values. We share those values with our employees, and with our customers.”
Two notable donations by the Bunzl Safety team were made to the Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, ON and the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
“We’re proud to support the healthcare workers in our communities,” said Dave Huck, Vice President of Bunzl Safety. “These organizations are providing exceptional care to patients under extremely challenging conditions. We want to do everything we can to support them in their critical role in keeping us all healthy and safe.”
